SUPER RUGBY WEEK 15
Chiefs v Crusaders
Super Rugby is back after the International window and a Top of the Table clash between the Chiefs and Crusaders at the neutral venue of Fiji kicks things off.
A huge match for both sides to solidify their spots going into the playoffs in a few weeks. The Chiefs have had the better of the Crusaders winning 7 of the last 10 matches, including 5 of the last 6. The Chiefs had a match against Wales a couple of weeks ago trouncing the visitors 40-7.
The 'Beaver' and 2011 world cup hero Stephen Donald is back at pivot to give Aaron Cruden a rest as he has been moved to the bench. Donald was instrumental in his teams thrashing of Wales, winding back the clock for a player of the match performance. The Chiefs have an almighty strong bench with the likes of Nathan Harris, Tawera Kerr-Barlow and Cruden. The Crusaders are particularly strong starters this season and the Chiefs may have to rely on their bench to get them home late.
This is bound to be an extremely close contest and I have to go with the Chiefs start here, based on past performances against the Crusaders.
Jaguares v Bulls
The biggest myths of Super Rugby 2016 the Jaguares face the Bulls in the last game of the round. This Argentinian side was thought to have given this competition a real shake this year but have failed miserably winning just two games against the Kings and Cheetahs.
The Jaguares are terrible travellers, but at home they do play their best footy. At home this year they've lost games by 4, 5, 3 and won by a mammoth 46 against the lowly Kings. They do have the luxury of having three home games to end what has been a disappointing season for the first year team. Winning one of these last three will be an accomplishment in itself though.
Alternatively the Bulls are at must win stage if they want to take part in the playoffs. With three relatively easy games against the Jaguares, Sunwolves and Cheetahs you'd think they are a good chance to push for wins in all three games and might grab a finals spot.
This should be a tough game, but I expect the Bulls to pull away late and win this one.
