SUPER RUGBY ROUND 10
Blues v Rebels
The Rebels played a great game plan against the Cheetahs last weekend, slowing the play down and forcing the Cheetahs to kick where they would normally choose to run. The Blues have had the bye, the week before they were victors over the Sharks in a tight affair.
There should be plenty of points in this one, so with no points markets out if there is anything around the 54 or less mark I would be inclined to back the overs. The last two games between these two sides have yielded 68 and 66 points each. Obviously if there is any chance of rain I would be staying right out of this though.
I'm pretty happy to back against the Rebels for a second week, even though last week didn't turn out great. The Blues will be fresh coming off the Bye and will be desperate for a win before they travel to South Africa.
Highlanders v Brumbies
The Highlanders were unlucky not to get the win against the Sharks last Friday. Having a Red Card given to Jason Emery 12 minutes into the game didn't help their cause. I really thought the Highlanders could still win that game, given they are a play for each other 'brotherhood' type team. The Brumbies come off a humiliating loss to the Crusaders who are absolutely flying at this stage.
The last couple of games between the two sides have both been similar score lines with the Brumbies coming out on top by 11 and 13 points in 2013 and 2015.
The Brumbies are also welcoming back one of the world's best in David Pocock and he will be out to prove something.
I don't think the Highlanders are anywhere near as good as they were last year and the history between the two sides suggest the Brumbies should be closer favourites than what is offered at the moment. I'm going with the Brumbies I a minor upset.
Jaguares v Kings
The Jaguares suffered a humiliating loss to the Sunwolves in what was a highly entertaining game last Saturday afternoon. The Sunwolves just hung in the whole game and were rewarded with the win later in the game. This should be another high scoring game, I suspect the total points market will start around the 60 market which should be about right.
The Jaguares have lost their last 7 games and are showing signs of struggling to keep up with the travel factor, fatiguing late in games. The Kings were well beaten by the inform Lions last week, they're continually struggling in both defence and attack.
The Jaguares should win this one but the starting line of +26.5 for the Kings is value in my opinion.
