Points at a premium in Wales

Wales and France kick off this round of the 6 nations with both teams coming off tough wins a fortnight ago. This is a must win game for both teams if they want any chance of holding aloft the 6 nations trophy at seasons end.

Wales have had the better of France over the last few games, with France not having beaten Wales since the Rugby World Cup in 2011 where Sam Warburton was infamously Red Carded early on in the game, France holding on to beat Wales 9-8 in a close affair. Wales have beaten France in the last few games with margins of 7, 21 (at home), 10 and 7 (at home) in the last four outings. The handicap has pushed out in the last couple of days from -7.5 out to -9.5 which I think is justifiable given Wales home advantage and recent form between the two sides.

In the past six games between the two teams there has only been an average of 27.8 points scored, no total score has gone over 37 points in the last 6 games. With this in mind and a rather high Total being put up by the bookies the best play is to have a crack at the points related markets.
