NBL WEEK 1
Adelaide v Melbourne United
The highly anticipated return of the NBL gets underway with Adelaide 36ers hosting the league favourites Melbourne United on Thursday. This date would’ve been circled in the calendar months ago and after the revelations from the Melbourne camp that they have their sights fully focused on the NBL and not the NBA pre season game against Oklahoma, I’m certain we’ll see something from them.
Utd are expected to field the most impressive five that the NBL has even seen whereas Adelaide have lost significant amounts of experience and quality in their camp. To make matters worse for Adelaide, their star import Ronald Roberts has already been released from his contract due to ongoing knee issues. A slight plus for them however is that Melb Utd starting 5 member Chris Goulding has once again succumb to another injury and will miss the match with appendicitis.
Tough match to start the season with the amount of injuries and other factors so we’ll start off with a different angle and play it safe until we see a couple of games to gauge the form off.
