STATE OF ORIGIN GAME 3
Queensland v New South Wales
The big question here is which one of these sides has the greatest motivation going into game three - the Blues in their attempt at the clean sweep or the Maroons in their attempt to salvage something from the series. With this being played at Suncorp Stadium and given the very proud and successful recent history of the Maroons it’s hard not to look hard at them, especially with the added motivation of being underdogs on their home turf.
The biggest selection shake up going into game three is the inclusion of DCE at halfback for the Maroons in place of Hunt, a selection many find curious given DCE’s tumultuous season but one which could prove a master stroke given his big game temperament and experience.
The Maroons forward pack will be absolutely amped for a huge game here, there’s far too much pride in this side to allow NSW to beat them up in their own backyard. Added to the Maroons motivation is the fact this is Billy Slaters final origin game and what better stage to end it on and anything short of a win would be an injustice to his great origin career.
It’s going to be a challenge to the young NSW side not to be overwhelmed by the hostile crowd and occasion and they’re going to be up against it here in every department with the series already in the bag. Pick - 4 units on Maroons to win
