$2 – QLD to win – It is the first time in 12 years since Game 3, 2005, that QLD are not favourites at home. NSW won that game 32-10.

$12 – Dane Gagai First Try Scorer – The Maroons’ winger scored a hat-trick in Game 2 at Suncorp Stadium last series.

29/5 - BLUES SENSATIONALLY BACKED TO WIN GAME 1

NSW is holding 70 percent of the early money with TAB to win State Of Origin Game 1 on Wednesday night.

Even more impressively, 93% of the dollars today have been on the Blues ($1.85) to defeat the Maroons on Wednesday night.

“One punter placed $20,000 on the Blues to win last night at $1.85, then has come back today for a further $15,000,” TAB’s Kristen Fahd said.

“Not only are punters backing NSW to win game one but they are also predicting a whitewash with NSW to win all three games also heavily backed at $5.50.”

23/5 - BLUES FIRM FOR OPENING STATE OF ORIGIN CLASH

New South Wales has firmed with TAB from $2.15 to $2 to win the opening State Of Origin clash after the squads were announced.

“Clearly punters have been far more impressed with the Blues’ selectors rather than Queensland’s,” TAB’s Gerard Middleton said.

“Since Billy Slater was confirmed as a shock snubbing from the Maroons’ side, 90 per cent of the money has been for New South Wales to win the series opener in Brisbane.”

The Blues have also shortened to win the series, from $2 to $1.95.

22/5 - MONEY FOR THE MAROONS

TAB punters have thrown their support behind Queensland to win Game 1 of the State Of Origin.

“The Blues were seeing all the early support over the past couple of months but it seems to have swung back to the Maroons with money now running 2-1 in their favour,” TAB’s Kristen Fahd said.

“NSW haven’t had the best luck in Game 1 with two wins from the past seven Origin openers, however, Laurie Daley’s squad certainly has the potential to turn their luck around and start the series off with a bang.”

In the overall market, money has been split 50-50.

RAIDERS BREAK THREE-GAME SKID

CANBERRA have trimmed up from $11 into $9 in premiership betting after ending a three-game skid on the weekend.

The Raiders returned to their winning ways with a 22-16 victory over Parramatta on Saturday night, edging themselves into eighth spot on the ladder.

“Punters couldn’t split the two teams in early betting. Money was running fairly evenly right up until kick off.”, TAB’s Jaimee Rogers said.

“It wasn’t all smooth sailing for the Raiders who gave up their 10-0 lead in the second half, however, they dug deep and managed to hold on to get the win.”
