NRL Betting Update

TAB punters are tipping Parramatta and the Warriors to be the surprises of the 2017 season.

In a ladder comprised from betting trends, the Eels are forecast: Su to finish in third position, having attracted the most money to finish in the top four, while punters think Stephen Kearney’s side will rise from tenth to fifth this season.

At the other end of the scale, Melbourne and North Queensland are tipped to slide down the ladder to eighth and twelfth respectively.

“For whatever reason the Storm are rarely well supported heading into a new season, but our bookies are keeping them very safe at the top of the market with Penrith,” TAB’s Gerard Middleton said.

“The Cowboys are another side the punters have overlooked despite their strong roster, however, we expect them to again be a strong contender for the title.”

Meanwhile, there has been $76 placed on Newcastle and St George Illawarra to face off in the grand final at the odds of $2501.

PENRITH ($7.50) is the best backed with TAB to win the 2017 NRL Premiership.

“TAB has been betting on sport since 1998 and the Panthers have never started favourites, until now,” TAB’s Gerard Middleton said.

“Punters are also expecting a big improvement from the Roosters, however, there’s little love for the Sharks to go back to back and they have drifted from $9 to $13 since the premiership market opened.”

TAB customers are slightly favouring Brisbane in Thursday’s season opener against Cronulla, with the Broncos attracting 53% of the money. prices
