Ireland with the edge in Paris

SIX NATIONS WEEK 2

FRANCE v IRELAND

Round 1 saw some predictable results, yet very dull rugby across the three games. This week we look at France v Ireland at Stade de France in Paris.

Ireland haven't lost to France since 2011, this includes two draws however. These two teams play a similar style of rugby with hard working forwards and a few backs that are able to open up a game with individual flair.

Over the last five games between France and Ireland an average of 33 points has been scored. I predict another low scoring affair between the two sides. The points over/under looks to be on the mark around the 34.5 point position.

The weather in Paris is meant to be fairly average with a high chance of rain during the game. This again will more than likely ensure a tight affair dominated by forward orientated play. The French just don't look the same without their recently retired inspirational leader Thierry Dusautoir, with the Irish media even throwing a sledge their way inferring the new look forward pack as being "soft".

With the edge the Irish have had over the French over the past few years I think once again they'll do the job in a tight affair. Pick - 2 Units Ireland to win by 12 points and under.
